U.S Marines with Marine Fighter Attack Training Squadron 101, Marine Aircraft Group 11, 3rd Maine Aircraft Wing (MAW), load a CATM-84D Harpoon captive air training missile onto an F/A-18C Hornet during combat aircraft loading area (CALA) training on Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, California, June 16, 2022. The CATM-84D is the training variant of the AGM-84 Harpoon anti-ship guided missile, one of the most lethal anti-ship weapons currently fielded. The Marines used the CALA training to sharpen their capability to load live ordnance and munitions onto aircraft, which ensures 3rd MAW is ready to be forward deployed and engaged, anytime, anywhere, at a moment's notice.
