Pansies grown and picked at the Stalag Luft III prisoner-of-war camp in Germany in 1945, at the end of World War II, have been pressed, dried and kept for more than 75 years by Capt. (ret.) Robert “Bob” Wolff, a former B-17 Flying Fortress pilot, 100th Bomb Group and World War II veteran. Wolff planted the flowers as a way to improve the living environment of the prisoners of war.
