220517-N-NO485-0001 NEWPORT, R.I. (May 17, 2022) Officer Development School (ODS) class 22050 students execute damage control techniques in the USS Buttercup wet trainer at Officer Training Command Newport (OTCN), Rhode Island. Students are instructed on shoring safety and repair techniques aboard ships while at ODS. ODS provides staff corps officers and several restricted line designators with the training necessary to prepare them to function in their role as commissioned Naval officers.
