CAMP LEMONNIER, Djibouti (July 19, 2022) Sign with the emblems of the U.S. Embassy in Djibouti, U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Djibouti’s Ministry of Health, and Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti (CLDJ) sits on a medical bed during a ribbon cutting of the expansion of Djibouti’s Ministry of Health’s PK12 Field Hospital in Balbala, Djibouti, July 20, 2022. Working shoulder-to-shoulder with Djibouti’s Ministry of Health, U.S. Embassy development specialists, and Civil Affairs, the service members of CJTF-HOA’s 319th Engineer Support Company successfully added a 5-bed intensive care unit, and a 30-bed isolation facility with bathrooms, which doubles the capacity of the PK12 Field Hospital. This work enables medical professionals from Civil Affairs to conduct critical training with their counterparts from the Ministry of Health.
