Roughly 60 Navy hospital corpsmen participated in Operation Commanding Force, the annual two-week training exercise, at Fort Drum. The culminating event on July 21 included practicing tactical field care and medical evacuation procedures with reservists going through a litter obstacle course. The training was supported by cadre from the Bridgewater-Vaccaro Medical Simulation Training Center (MSTC), the 10th Combat Aviation Brigade’s 3rd General Support Aviation Battalion (DUSTOFF) and medics from 1st Brigade Combat Team and 2nd Brigade Combat Team.
