Rear Admiral Eric L. Peterson, deputy commander of Naval Medical Forces Atlantic, speaks with Staff Sgt. Nate Carey, a flight paramedic with 3rd General Support Aviation Battalion, 10th Combat Aviation Brigade, at the start of a training exercise July 21 outside Bridgewater-Vaccaro Medical Simulation Training Center (MSTC) at Fort Drum. Roughly 60 Navy hospital corpsmen participated in Operation Commanding Force, the annual two-week training exercise. The culminating event included tactical field care and medical evacuation procedures with reservists going through a litter obstacle course.
