During an exercise, Arnold Air Force Base Fire and Emergency Services personnel, from left, Sam Teat, a driver/operator; Zack Mitchell, a firefighter; Chris Graham, a firefighter/crew chief; and Pete Dwyer, a paramedic/firefighter, assess simulated victims July 12, 2022, at Arnold AFB, Tennessee. Information about each victim's condition is printed out and placed with the training dummy to provide information normally gathered by asking questions and physically assessing the victims. In the exercise, a terrorist attack was simulated in which a truck had crashed and nearby an explosion had occurred causing a fire and a chemical release. The exercise tested the response by various organizations on base. Due to the heat index, personnel did not wear all the gear they would in a real-life situation.
