    220805-N-EV253-1017 SAN DIEGO (Aug. 5, 2022) – Capt. David Ayotte renders a salute to sideboys as he prepares to assume command of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 3 during a change of command ceremony held aboard Naval Air Station (NAS) North Island in Coronado, California, Aug 5. During the ceremony, Ayotte relieved Cmdr. Loren Jacobi, and became the 46th commanding officer to lead the "Merlins" of HSC-3. HSC-3 is the Navy’s west coast MH-60S fleet replacement squadron, responsible for training pilots and aircrewmen by providing the most capable warfighters to the fleet.
