Firefighters assigned to the 6th Civil Engineer Squadron put out a fire during an aircraft rescue and firefighting proficiency training at MacDill Air Force Base, Florida, Aug. 5, 2022. This ARFF training was part of a Small Business Innovation Research project which evaluates how the 6th CES firefighter unit manages hazardous liquid fuel fire. This project will help develop more efficient means of handling fires involving JP-8 fuel, used for Air Force aircraft, and be used as reference for future training methods and materials.
