U.S. Space Force Lt. Col. Christopher Higgins, current plans branch chief for the Joint Task Force-Space Defense, participates in an ‘Embrace the Ruck’ event at Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado, Aug. 5, 2022. The event consisted of a 12-mile ruck march around the perimeter of the installation and all participants wore packs weighing a minimum of 30 pounds. Additionally, participants were encouraged to fill their packs with non-perishable food items that could be donated to local food banks. The JTF-SD collectively contributed over 120 pounds of food.
