WATERLOO, Iowa (Aug. 8, 2022) - Cmdr. James Diefenderfer, commanding officer aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS The Sullivans (DDG 68), and Electrician's Mate 3rd Class Kimberly Jones read children’s books to children at the Iowa Irish Festival in Waterloo, Iowa, Aug. 8. Sailors assigned to The Sullivans are visiting Waterloo for a Namesake visit to the five Sullivan brother’s hometown and got to share experiences about their time in the Navy with local Waterloo citizens.
