The new NSF insignia qualification program establishes performance standards that can be used to assist in the assignment; promotion and officer selection processes, and provides a visual recognition of the Sailor’s professional expertise with a pin designating the qualification level as a NSF specialist, senior specialist, master specialist or officer.
