An AV-8B Harrier assigned to Marine Attack Squadron (VMA) 542 launches from the flight deck of the amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) during the Amphibious Landing Exercise (PHIBLEX). PHIBLEX is an annual bilateral exercise designed to improve interoperability, increase readiness and develop professional and personal relationships between the U.S. and the Armed Forces of the Philippines. The U.S. Navy is constantly deployed to preserve peace, protect commerce, and deter aggression through forward presence.
