PACIFIC OCEAN (Aug. 8, 2022) – A U.S. Marine Corps UH-1Y completes pre-flight checks aboard the flight deck of amphibious transport dock USS Anchorage (LPD 23) as directed by Aviation Boatswain’s Mate Handler 3rd Class Quantae Thompson, Aug. 8. The ability to operate seamlessly and simultaneously on the sea, ashore, and in the air represents the unique value of the amphibious capability provided by the Navy – Marine Corps team. Marines and Sailors of the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) and Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) are underway conducting integrated training operations in U.S. 3rd Fleet.
