The labyrinth weir at the Isabella Dam Safety Modification Project in Lake Isabella, California rises 28 feet above the floor of the emergency spillway on July 28, 2022. Crews with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District are approaching completion of construction work on the dam system, including the auxiliary and main dams, emergency spillway and labyrinth weir. The project is designed to reduce flood risk for downstream communities including Bakersfield.
