When fire destroyed the home of a fellow Soldier, Sgt. Thomas H. Pham could not stand by and do nothing - so he took action. A plans NCO with HHC, 48th BCT he quickly organized a donation box fundraiser.
"When I heard about (his wife and four children) losing everything I knew we, as soldiers, had to pull together and do something," Pham, who lives in Hoover, AL and is a communications marketing specialist stated. "We're in the same brigade and even though we are (in Iraq) we can pull together with family readiness to help."
The three day collection effort brought $707 in cash and checks.
"Money is hard to come by with no ATM," Pham stated. "A lot of our Soldiers are donating clothes through family at home. Its a morale boost too, seeing that Soldiers are pulling together with 48th BCT family readiness."
