Phước Hòa, Vietnam (July 26, 2022) Construction Electrician 3rd Class Gaoa Mauga (left) and Builder 2nd Class Grant Templeton (right), with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 4, lay the first of 15 courses of Concrete Masonry Units (CMU) block for the Phước Hòa primary school project in Vietnam. NMCB-4 has teamed up with Marines of 7th Engineer Support Battalion (ESB) to provide the Phú Yên province of Vietnam a brand new two room schoolhouse as part of Pacific Partnership 22. NMCB-4 is forward deployed throughout the Indo-Pacific region and United States territories to support and maintain a free and open Indo-Pacific. As the stand-in, crisis response, naval engineering force, NMCB-4 maintains a ready posture to deliver in-theater expeditionary logistics via expeditionary shore infrastructure, forward damage repair, and mobile construction.
