Philippine reconnaissance Marines teach U.S. Marines with the Maritime Raid Force, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, how to construct a shelter utilizing coconut tree branches during KAMANDAG 6 in Dadao, Calayan Island, Philippines Oct. 5, 2022. The combined persistence and reconnaissance training gave U.S. and Philippine reconnaissance Marines an opportunity to share tactics with one another and increase survivability in jungle environments. KAMANDAG is an annual bilateral exercise between the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the U.S. military designed to strengthen interoperability, capabilities, trust, and cooperation built over decades of shared experiences.
