U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Hunter GrayWhite, a motor transport mechanic with Combat Logistics Regiment 37, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, carries out corrective maintenance on a High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle utility truck as part of the offload preparation party on the United States Naval Ship Dahl (T-AKR 312) during exercise Resolute Dragon 22 in Kushiro Port, on Sept. 28, 2022. During maritime pre-positioning force offloads, offload preparation parties are tasked with the maintenance of the equipment to ensure all equipment is mission capable ahead of the offload. Resolute Dragon 22 is an annual exercise designed to strengthen the defensive capabilities of the U.S.-Japan alliance by exercising integrated command and control, targeting, combined arms, and maneuver across multiple domains. 3rd MLG, based out of Okinawa, Japan, is a forward-deployed combat unit that serves as III Marine Expeditionary Force’s comprehensive logistics and combat service support backbone for operations throughout the Indo-Pacific area of responsibility.
