U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Niko Martinez, a food service specialist with Combat Logistics Regiment 37, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, works alongside Sailors with Amphibious Construction Battalion 1, Naval Support Element, and U.S. Merchant Mariners, with Military Sealift Command, to prepare an afternoon meal during exercise Resolute Dragon 22 on United States Naval Ship Dahl (T-AKR 312) in Kushiro Port, on Sept. 29, 2022. Resolute Dragon 22 is an annual exercise designed to strengthen the defensive capabilities of the U.S.-Japan alliance by exercising integrated command and control, targeting, combined arms, and maneuver across multiple domains. 3rd MLG, based out of Okinawa, Japan, is a forward-deployed combat unit that serves as III Marine Expeditionary Force’s comprehensive logistics and combat service support backbone for operations throughout the Indo-Pacific area of responsibility.
