U.S. Air Force Maj. Bobby Budde, outgoing commander of the 908th Expeditionary Air Refueling Squadron, relinquishes command to Brig. Gen. William Betts, commander of the 378th Air Expeditionary Wing, during the unit's change of command ceremony at Prince Sultan Air Base, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Oct. 14, 2022. During the change of command ceremony, Lt. Col. Michael Deprey assumed command. The primary purpose of a change of command is for subordinates to witness an officer formally assume responsibility, authority and accountability for the unit. These ceremonies preserve the tradition of military service and stimulate unit esprit de corps. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Noah J. Tancer)
