NORFOLK, Va. (October 21, 2022) Newly promoted Chief petty officers assigned to the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD-5) stand in formation during the ship’s pinning ceremony at the Nauticus museum, Oct. 21, 2022. During the ceremony, 15 USS Bataan Sailors were promoted to the rank of chief petty officer. The Chief petty officer pinning ceremony is considered one of the most significant milestones of an enlisted U.S. Navy Sailor’s career.
