PHILIPPINE SEA (Nov. 11, 2022) Capt. Justin Harts, from San Diego, California, deputy commodore of commander, Destroyer Squadron 15, and Sailors from the Royal Australian Navy (RAN), Indian Navy and Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) observe surface units and aircraft flying and sailing in formation aboard USS Ronald Reagan. Malabar 2022 is a Japan-led, surface, air, and subsurface multi-lateral field training exercise with the Indian Navy, JMSDF, RAN, and U.S. Navy. Malabar 2022 enhances interoperability between Australian, Indian, Japanese and U.S. maritime forces, strengthens the critical partnerships and demonstrates U.S. naval presence in the Indo-Pacific region.
