Exercise Tartan Eagle Phase II - Fireteam and Squad Assault

British Royal Marine Color Sgt. Christopher McHale, a unit platoon weapon class 1 with 43 Commando Fleet Protection Group Royal Marines (43 Cdo RM), and U.S. Marine Corps Capt. Connor McMahon, an infantry officer and platoon commander of 2nd Platoon, Alpha Company, Fleet Anti-terrorism Security Team, Marine Corps Security Force Regiment, plan a live-fire squad assault exercise during Tartan Eagle phase II, Otterburn Training Camp, Europe, Oct. 28, 2022. The simulated squad assault gave Marines the opportunity to test communication and cohesion within their platoon in a countryside environment. Exercise Tartan Eagle is an annual bilateral training exercise for the U.S. Marines and British Royal Marines with 43 Cdo RM to travel to each command’s training facilities to exchange tactics, techniques and procedures in fixed site security.
