U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Bryan Gonzales, a motor vehicle operator with 3rd Maintenance Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force, participates in combat casualty evacuation training during Keen Sword 23 at Camp Foster, Okinawa, Japan, Nov. 17, 2022. Keen Sword is a biennial training event that exercises the combined capabilities and lethality developed between III MEF and the Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force. This bilateral field-training exercise between the U.S. military and the JGSDF strengthens interoperability and combat readiness of the U.S.-Japan alliance. Gonzales is a native of Norwalk, Conn.
