U.S. Navy Hosptial Corpsman 2nd Class, Deven Sheldrew, left, and Capt. Darren Couture, a certified registered nurse anesthetist, both with U.S. Naval Hospital Okinawa, participate in combat casualty evacuation training during Keen Sword 23 at Camp Foster, Okinawa, Japan, Nov. 17, 2022. Keen Sword is a biennial training event that exercises the combined capabilities and lethality developed between III Marine Expeditionary Force and the Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force. This bilateral field-training exercise between the U.S. military and the JGSDF strengthens interoperability and combat readiness of the U.S.-Japan alliance. Sheldrew is a native of Richwood, Ohio, and Couture is a native of Duluth, Minn. (U.S. Marine Corps video by Lance Cpl. Tyler Andrews)
