Malakal, Palau (Nov 3, 2022) Equipment Operator 3rd Class Madison Anderson attached to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 4, uses a drill to make holes for vertical reinforcements for rebar cage as part of the Malakal Harbor Improvements Project. The project will provide a new concrete cap as well as new fender system to Palau’s sole commercial port. NMCB-4 is forward deployed throughout the Indo-Pacific region and United States territories to support and maintain a free and open Indo-Pacific. As the stand-in, crisis response, naval engineering force, NMCB-4 maintains a ready posture to deliver in-theatre expeditionary logistics via expeditionary shore infrastructure, forward damage repair, and mobile construction.
