A New Hampshire National Guard Honor Guard performs during a graveside wreath-laying to commemorate President Franklin Pierce’s 218th birthday Nov. 22, 2022, at Old North Cemetery in Concord, New Hampshire. The NHNG conducts a ceremony annually with Pierce Brigade volunteers. Pierce is the only New Hampshire resident to be elected president of the United States, holding office from 1853 – 1857.
