    Col. William Davis, New Hampshire Air National Guard director of staff, and Phyllis Gagnon of the Pierce Brigade, lay a floral wreath at the grave of President Franklin Pierce to commemorate his 218th birthday Nov. 22, 2022, at Old North Cemetery in Concord, New Hampshire. The NHNG performs services annually with Pierce Brigade volunteers. Pierce is the only New Hampshire resident to be elected president of the United States, holding office from 1853 – 1857.
