Brig. Gen. Kevin J. Lambert, deputy commanding general of maneuver for the 3rd Infantry Division, worked on family fishing boats during the summers before joining the Army. During this time, he often worked for his grandfather, Wally Leask, who taught him many valuable lessons about the importance of hard work.
