On Nov. 23, during the battle for Hill 875, the 4th Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment from the north slope coordinated a final assault on the hilltop with the 1st Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Division, charging up the south slope.
