PACIFIC OCEAN (Nov. 10, 2022) Sailors aboard amphibious transport dock USS John P. Murtha (LPD 26) conduct a fueling-at-sea (FAS) with fleet replenishment oiler USNS Henry J. Kieser (T-AO 187), Nov. 10, 2022. A FAS is a method of transferring fuel from one ship to another while underway and was first developed in the 20th century as a logistics support technique. The Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, comprised of amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8) and amphibious transport docks USS Anchorage (LPD 23) and John P.
