A U.S. Marine with Marine Wing Support Squadron 273, Marine Air Control Group 28, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing (MAW), waits for instruction while conducting a forward arming and refueling point (FARP) operation with CH-53 helicopters with Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 461, Marine Aircraft Group 29, 2nd MAW, during a field exercise at Ft. Stewart, Georgia, Nov. 1, 2022. A FARP is a temporary site where aircraft can be refueled and armed, allowing for sustained operations closer to the area of operation.
