    31st Marine Expeditionary Unit       

    A contractor, U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Andrew Brown, a field artillery fire control Marine with the Command Element, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit , middle, and Lance Cpl. Ricardo Espada, a fire support Marine, conduct a system maintenance check to ensure network connectivity as part of a forward command operation center exercise at Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Dec. 13, 2022. The FCOC provides command and control to monitor, track and direct friendly forces in an operational environment. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premier crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
