NASA's Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy (SOFIA) aircraft flies over the flightline while an A-10 Thunderbolt II waits for clearance to takeoff at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Ariz., Dec. 13, 2022. SOFIA was a joint project of NASA and the German Space Agency at Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR).
