NASA's Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy (SOFIA) aircraft flies over the flightline at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Ariz., Dec. 13, 2022. The SOFIA aircraft is a Boeing 747SP jetliner modified to carry a reflecting telescope.
