Coast Guard Cutter Mackinaw (WLBB 30) makes way in the Straits of Mackinaw just west of the Mackinac Bridge Dec. 13, 2022. The multi-mission ship, homeported in Cheboygan, Mich., is the U.S. Coast Guard's only heavy icebreaker on the Great Lakes and also serves as a highly capable buoy tender.
