NAPLES, ITALY –– Capt. John Bartak, Commander, Naval Support Facility Redzikowo, is piped aboard during his change of command ceremony, in Redzikowo, Poland, Dec. 15. Bartak assumed command from Capt. Michael Smith. NSF Redzikowo, the Navy's newest base, supports the AEGIS ashore missile defense system, providing layered collective defense against missile threats. Navy Region EURAFCENT oversees nine installations in seven countries, enabling U.S., allied and partner nation forces to be where they are needed, when they are needed, in order to ensure security and stability in the European, African, and Central Command areas of responsibility.
