U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Col. Steven Piacente, commanding officer of Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron (HMLA) 367, Marine Aircraft Group 39, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, gives his keynote after the deactivation of HMLA-469 and the reactivation of HMLA-367 on Marine Corps Air Station Camp Pendleton, California, Dec. 16, 2022. HMLA-469, call sign "Vengeance," established a strong legacy through skilled flying and participation in missions across a range of military operations for the past 13 years, and is deactivating as part of a Force Design 2030 initiative. HMLA-367, call sign "Scarface," with roots dating back to World War II, earned their call sign during operations in Vietnam and sustained their commendable reputation through operations Desert Storm, Desert Shield, Operation Inherent Resolve II and in support of operations in Afghanistan.
