U.S. Army Gen. James Dickinson, United States Space Command commander, coins a U.S. Space Force Guardian for his outstanding performance in supporting space operations and leading within his unit at Space Systems Command, Calif., Jan. 5, 2023. With more than an $11B space acquisition budget, members assigned to SSC play an active role in supporting efforts that allow the command to provide warfighters with superior space assets and capabilities to help defend the nation and its allies. USSPACECOM conducts operations in, from, and to space to deter conflict, and if necessary, defeat aggression, deliver space combat power, for the Joint and Combined force, and defend U.S. vital interests with allies and partners.
