PACIFIC OCEAN (Nov. 11, 2022) – U.S. Navy Aviation Support Equipment Technician Second Class Leonardo Faundez with Air Department, USS John P. Murtha (LPD 26), observes preflight operations, Nov. 11. The mobility and sustainability provided by amphibious platforms enable the Navy-Marine Corps team to extend the reach of our capabilities. The 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit is embarked with the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, comprised of amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8) and amphibious transport docks USS Anchorage (LPD 23) and USS John P.
