1st Lt. Hiroki Hayashida, the officer in charge of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force 15th Brigade Band, and Chief Warrant Officer 3 DeMarius D. Jackson, the officer in charge of the III Marine Expeditionary Force Band, exchange gifts before the 25th anniversary of the ‘Friendship Through Music’ concert Jan. 28 at the Ginowan Civic Hall in Okinawa, Japan, Jan. 28, 2023. This year's iteration of the concert series was the first full, unrestricted performance since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. The concert series is an annual joint performance between the two bands.
