Command Sgt. Maj Patrickson Toussaint, the top senior enlisted advisor for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, presents a command coin to Terry McMaster, lock operator for the Pittsburgh District, at the Monongahela River Locks and Dam 4 in Charleroi, Pennsylvania, Jan. 30, 2023. McMaster has 35 years of federal service, all spent with the corps, and is considered a father figure who has mentored dozens of lock operators on the job with his humble demeanor. This was the first time McMaster had ever received a command coin. Military leaders present customized coins to civilian and military service members to show appreciation for a job well done worthy of recognition. Toussaint spent several days speaking to employees across the district to gain a better perspective of their responsibilities and roles in supporting the corps’ mission in the greater Pittsburgh region.
