U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Sebastian Cruz, a Hampton, Georgia native and a machine gunner with Battalion Landing Team 1/6, 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), provides suppressive fire with a M240B machine against simulated enemy forces during a night raid on Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, Feb. 4, 2023. The motorized infantry raid was the culminating event for MEUEX II, following Amphibious Squadron/Marine Expeditionary Unit Intergration Training (PMINT). The amphibious raid integrated multiple elements of the Marine Air Ground Task Force with live-fire events and showcased the MEU’s ability to conduct ship-to-shore maneuver and secure a beach landing site.
