NAVAL SUPPORT ACTIVITY SOUDA BAY, Greece (Feb. 6, 2023) Sailors assigned to the Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Leyte Gulf (CG 55), pick organic oranges at a community relations event that provided fruit to the Chania Municipality Community Support Market in Crete, Greece, on Feb. 6, 2023. Leyte Gulf, homeported in Norfolk, is attached to the USS George H.W. Bush Carrier Strike group (CSG) and is operating in the U.S. Sixth Fleet area of operations as part of a scheduled deployment. NSA Souda Bay is an operational ashore installation which enables and supports U.S., Allied, Coalition, and Partner nation forces to preserve security and stability in the European, African, and Central Command areas of responsibility.
