A soldier from the Kenyan Defence Force uses a ground search metal detector during counter-improvised explosive device training as part of Justified Accord 2023, in Isiolo, Kenya, Feb. 13, 2023. Exercise Justified Accord 2023 (JA23) has approximately 1,000 participants, some as military observers, from four continents and 20 partner nations. U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa (SETAF-AF) and partners conduct JA23 in Kenya to build readiness for the U.S. joint force, prepare regional partners for United Nations and African Union mandated missions, and increase multinational interoperability.
