Lt. Col. Peter Mwangi, Commander of the 27th Mechanized Infantry Battalion, Kenyan Defence Forces, addresses the soldiers from the KDF, Ugandan Army, and U.S. Army after a partnership run in Isiolo, Kenya, Feb. 18, 2023, during Justified Accord 2023. Led by the KDF, partners ran over 5 miles stopping intermittently to do push ups and core exercises. Events like this build partnership and camaraderie between partner forces and further cement the relationships between forces. Justified Accord is U.S. Africa Command's largest exercise in East Africa, and aims to increase partner readiness for peacekeeping missions, crisis response, and humanitarian assistance. The ceremony is the official start of an extensive training exercise that brings together 20 countries from four continents. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt. 1st Class Steven Eaton)
