A U.S. Navy Sailor with the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship USS Mesa Verde (LPD 19) listens to communications as the Wasp-Class Amphibious Assault Ship USS Bataan (LHD 5) and Ferry-class dock landing ship USS Carter Hall (LSD 50), create a ship formation during a strait transit exercise part of Amphibious Squadron/MEU Integration Training (PMINT), Jan. 28, 2023. For many Marines and Sailors, this was their first time aboard a warship and their first deployment working alongside the Navy.
