U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Jayden Shepherd, a native of Washington County, Utah and Lance Cpl. Jordan Engel, a native of Perrysburg Ohio, both riflemen with Battalion Landing Team 1/6, 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), pose for a photo on the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship USS Mesa Verde (LPD 19) during a strait transit exercise part of Amphibious Squadron/MEU Integration Training (PMINT) at sea, Jan. 28, 2023.
“PMINT is important because it allows us to get familiarized with the crew and build good relations with them,” said Engel. “It also gives us an understanding of what our role is here on the ship.”
As the first at-sea exercise, PMINT serves as an opportunity to strengthen integration between the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit and U.S. Naval battle staff, gaining proficiency for elements of the Marine Air Ground Task Force. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl. Michele Clarke)
