A U.S. Marine Corps F-35B Lightning II, Marine Fighter Attack Training Squadron 501, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, begins its landing approach during a Forward Arming and Refueling Point (FARP) Officer-in-Charge (OIC) training course hosted by Marine Wing Support Squadron (MWSS) 273, Marine Air Control Group 28, at Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, South Carolina, Feb. 22, 2023. The FARP OIC course was a two week long class that trained Marines to establish and operate a FARP site, a temporary site where aircraft can be refueled and armed, allowing for sustained operations closer to the area of operation.
